The topics covered in this book on organic livestock farming provide descriptive and informative information on the current state of organic livestock farming. The integration of organic livestock farming, a new trend, into Kazakhstan's livestock production system will undoubtedly revitalize domestic livestock farming. At the same time, increasing our sensitivity to the environment and nature is our duty to leave a greener and more natural world for future generations. It is crucial for rural residents of Kazakhstan to adapt to changing global conditions and evolving agricultural technologies. In agriculture and livestock farming, where traditional methods dominate, it is crucial to accelerate change and transformation, as well as develop alternative production methods. Organic livestock farming is one such ideal. For years, production carried out without the necessary knowledge of agriculture and livestock farming has hindered producers' ability to increase incomes and production volumes.

Rashit B. USKENOV is a Candidate of Agricultural Sciences and the Professor at the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (Republic of Kazakhstan). He teaches in the areas of animal nutrition, animal selection and reproduction, and organic livestock farming. He is well known among his students for his quest to bring clarity to complex decision-making problems in livestock management.
He earned his Candidate of Agricultural Sciences degree in Animal Nutrition and Feed Preparation at the Kazakh National Agrarian University (Almaty). He received the academic title of Associate Professor in 2008 and the rank of Professor in 2025, as conferred by the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has published scholarly work in the areas of cattle nutrition, sheep and poultry farming, digitalization in livestock production, and organic animal husbandry.
Prior to entering academe, he began working at the age of 14 as an assistant combine operator and stockman at the Williams State Farm in the Kostanay region. He is also very active in consulting and training for agricultural producers, working with a wide variety of clients the Government of Kazakhstan, international organizations, as well as many small and large livestock and service firms in Kazakhstan.
It is not unusual to find him actively pursuing his passion for football, often on the pitch or at stadiums with close friends and colleagues.
